June

Hi all, Happy June. I finally met my weight watchers goal this month and now I am headed into the maintenance phase for 6 weeks. I think I will go another 5 pounds or so, it's easier in the summer. Then I will be where I was for Jen's wedding, and I will have a cushion for when I start gaining for the winter hibernation.

All is well here we celebrated Jen's birthday(pictures included) by using all my WW points for booze and it was fun. Plus we went to Chicago to see Wicked the Saturday before, before it closes for good. The weather has been terrific here for the past week and I am so appreciating it. I ride my bike everyday and I take hour walks with the neighbors. I know the heat will be back but so far so good.

I am keeping up with all the Scott info online and really hope that he is on the mend. Allison I don't know what this is such a great day for you but I am happy that it is.

Mother's day

Well, go figure today is beautiful, yesterday Mother's day not so much. It rained and rained and was cold too. But we had a great day. Jonathan cooked me a weight watcher's friendly brunch and we tried to go bowling. Guess all the moms in NW Chicagoland had the same idea. The wait was over 90 minutes so we went to look at patio furniture (for us) and dining room furniture (for Jen). I got my annual assortment of herbs the only kind of plants I don't kill and a new spice rack filled with great herbs and spices in case I do kill them. I can't be sure when to plant them this year since it's actually pretty cold at night still.

Oh, I also got the DVD Juno and I got Attonement for my birthday last week so as soon as I figure out how to watch them on the big TV I will be all set. I am embarrassed to be the mom that has to ask her kids how to work stuff so I will give it a go (my new Aussie lingo.. thanks Jonathan)

If today is an example then spring is here in the Midwest, I said that 2 weeks ago though and look what happened. Fingers crossed.

Well Happy Mother's day to all my family and remember all my nieces and nephews there wouldn't be a mother's day without you. And.... furry children count too!

Just wanted to join the fun!

Hi all, I thought I would start a blog and add to the family fun. I enjoyed reading what the Chamberlin branch was up to so much. If we ever get the rest of the family branches to gmail we could all see what's up. I love knowing things but I really am phone phobic.

Ok, midwest news. We had spring, then summer now back to winter with spring again on the horizon. I am afraid it will pass quickly to summer once again. We are getting a new brick patio put in and I will make my 1st attempt at planting "stuff". I already have my herb garden in my old weber grill. Don't laugh it's been great. This is my 3rd year.

Jennifer gets her master's degree this Sunday so we will be off to that. Jonathan has some friends in from Australia so the "kids" will all be celebrating in the big city on Friday leaving one full day to recover for Jen so she can actually see her diploma. John is still trying to sell his little house but insisted on upgrading anyway. Does anyone want to move to Chicagoland, he is throwing in the big TV? I am still in weight watcher's (26 pounds and counting) Ed is still retired, that in itself is an adjustment. For both of us.

That's all the news. I am new at this but I thought I would give it a try.
